The student demonstrates proficiency with computer based planetarium software as well as Planispheres, and is able to use them to plan night-sky observations.

Assessed Competency: The student has demonstrated expertise in setting up “go-to” telescopes. This includes setting up the base tripod, mounting the telescope appropriately and performing specific initialization procedures. Student can use the telescope to point to stars, planets, and deep sky objects (nebulae, galaxies etc.). Moreover, the student demonstrates mastery of basic telescope optics and procedures for handling optical devices and equipment with care.
