To Register for the ACT
ACT Registration Instructions will be included in your JBA application packet.
The link for the online ACT Registration and the ACT Paper Registration Form
will not be live on this site until after October 2019.
ACT Test Date – December 14, 2019
Regular Postmark Deadline – November 8, 2019
Due to Internet privacy laws, students younger than 13 cannot register online even if their parents or guardians register them.
- Register by paper if you are 12 or younger or if you are paying by check or money order. Go to http://jba.truman.edu/act and download the paper registration form. Mail your completed form and payment to: JBA, Truman State University, 100 E Normal Ave, MC 303, Kirksville MO 63501.
- Register online at http://jba.truman.edu/act only if you are 13 years old or older; payment for online registration must be made by a valid debit or credit card. Please make sure to provide a valid email address so that you can receive confirmation of your registration.
To ensure your scores are reported to JBA, your first choice COLLEGE CODE —9880 for JBA has already been entered. This will ensure that we receive a copy of your test results. You can have your ACT scores sent to up to three additional colleges (included in your registration fee ONLY if you list valid codes on this form.)
If you have already registered to take the ACT using another option, DO NOT REGISTER AGAIN. Instead call ACT Student Services at 319-337-1270 between 8:00 am – 8:00 pm and ask that the JBA codes be added as one of your other college choices.
NOTE: Students returning to JBA for a second or third year may choose to use their ACT scores from the previous year, but they are encouraged to retake the test and submit new scores. Acceptance to the Joseph Baldwin Academy is not determined by the score a student receives on the ACT/SAT or PSAT. There is no minimum admission score. However, it is a factor considered in getting your preferred course choice and it is used by a number of professors as one of many factors (including transcripts, letter of recommendation, essays, etc.) in the acceptance process.
Finalizing your registration
After you have registered and received your ticket from ACT, you will need acceptable identification or you will not be admitted to test. Please print off the Talent Search Identification Letter. You must bring your completed Talent Search Identification Letter to the test center on test day.
Test Center Admission Ticket
Prior to the test date you chose, ACT will mail you an admission ticket, which you must bring with you on test day. Read both sides of your admission ticket carefully. Your registered test date and test option are listed at the top of your admission ticket. For assistance with registration changes or to receive a new admission ticket, call ACT Student Services at 319-337-1270 between 8:00 am – 8:00 pm.
Test Date Change or Absent on Test Day
Once you register, your ACT registration cannot be cancelled. If you decide not to test or you miss the test date for any reason—illness or injury, lack of ID, or late arrival, call ACT Student Services at 319-337-1270 between 8:00 am – 8:00 pm. Please DO NOT call the JBA Office. We are unable to make any changes to your ACT registration and our office is not staffed on weekends.
Weather Problems on Test Day
In the event of inclement weather, listen to your local radio or TV station for announcements about the status of your test center. ACT will post reschedule information at www.actstudent.org.
